Embodied, Embedded, Emergence in Supervision - Eco Supervision
for new and established supervisors.
.
Eco Supervision. In person and via Zoom
“We are talking only to our ourselves. We are not talking to the rivers, we are not listening to the wind and the stars. We have broken the great conversation” Thomas Berry, The Dream of the Earth
“We strongly agree that supervision should not be reduced to the human and material realms, but should also be open to the ‘more than human world’ (Hawkins & Shohet, 2012: 110)
“ Our body moves as our mind moves. The qualities of any movement are a manifestation of how mind is expressing through the body at that moment” Bainbridge-Cohen 2008, p4
Supervision is about generating fresh perspectives on the material brought to supervision “or at least the possibility of a new response to the familiar perspective” (Chesner and Zografou 2014, p 18). Working with the language of movement as well as the language of words and actively engaging with the context within which supervision is held, be that an indoor or an outdoor place, this creative modality invites us to work with perspective in a new and imaginative way. This can offer surprising insights to our work.

" The notion of developing the internal supervisor was excellent, great description and space to practice. I found this a highlight"
" Working with Therese has inspired me to bring my full attention to the influence of place and movement within the context of offering supervision.I feel enlivened and inspired to explore embodiement, embeddedness and emergence further"
