Just This - Sharing Movement in Nature
April 22nd, May 13th, June 24th, July 29th An Talamh, Skreen, Co Sligo
" What we practice, we strengthen. " Tara Brach
Receiving self,
environment,
other........
through movement and stillness practices
to develop presence,
explore habits and patterns,
promote greater wholeness.
This workshop acknowledges the restorative power of pausing and of being with our bodies in a leisurely, unhurried way. It is a day to strengthen the practice of receiving our condition, receiving environment, receiving other and developing everday practices that enable us to be with "just this" in each day.
Working in a rural garden through bodily exercises that emphasis presence and letting go, we will explore body awareness and receptivity to who we are in the moment. We will work with our reciprocal relationship with nature, witnessed by the animate world and stimulate growth in ourselves and those we are working with.
“ Recent research has shown that the smell of humus exerts a physiological effect on humans. Breathing in the scent of the Earth stimulates the release of the hormone oxytocin, the same chemical that promotes bonding. . . . .” ( Kimmerer 2013)
10.00 – 5pm An Talamh, Stonepark, Skreen , Co Sligo
