On Psychotherapy
“Thank you so much for helping me to kindle the spark of courage and step out into new horizons which I had only dreamed of before starting my therapy sessions with you.”
“You have been such a good listener, so helpful and understanding, provoking and challenging. I really appreciated your dedicated approach.”
“I am truly blessed to have received your kindness, understanding, insight and patience. I hope I am ready now to quieten the questions and trust in life...”
“I feel I have gotten so much from our sessions in the last year and a half. I think maybe I was finally able to come into the room and really be there with you... I feel myself more able to do that with other people now and I am amazed and delighted about that. Thank you for having the patience to see me.”
On Supervision
In group
“We discussed openly our challenges as a debriefer, how the role can mostly impact us positively but there can be the negatives too, leading to projection, and sometimes stress. We questioned our responsibility with confidentiality, the “what if” I had done it this way that sometimes arose through self-reflection. We spoke of the tools we can can use to deal with stress, focusing on self-care and supervision of our work practices.”
Outdoors
“The power of the unspoken and the power of the embodied. Very holding, very containing and very, very, freeing.”
“I haven’t seen group supervision done in that manner , with such freedom of expression. I learnt to trust the process, to trust my instincts and enjoy other ways of knowing. I was reminded of the interconnectedness of everything.”
On Movement
“Thank you so much for your workshop yesterday. My delights were twofold. Firstly, I discovered with a shock that my lower body has been uninhabited for a long time - hence the nearly dead baby in my dream. By connecting with the physicality of my being, I was able to connect with the warrior woman in me - very necessary at this time in my life. The second thing was witnessing how your work, the structure of the day and your interventions. I think this day could be a two day event. What do you think about including wonder/awe as another attitude in prayer which could be moved in the body?”
“Now today as I tune into my 'Begin Again' feeling I am aware of how much I need to get “in”. ---- contrary to years ago when I had the 'let me out feeling'! I also feel the need to shake off part of myself, which I think means being more mindful of distracting behaviours . -- more of a need to stand firm. Yes that means feet firmly on the ground as I work with my intention of being true to myself. Thanks again for a beautiful day and re-affirmation of the benefits of movement.”
